Largo Foods, based in County Meath, Ireland, manufactures iconic brands such as Tayto, Hunky Dorys, King, and Perri. Largo also distribute the complete KP range of products in the Republic of Ireland giving Largo almost a 50 per cent share of the Irish snack-food market.
When Largo took the strategic decision to upgrade their business software, IFS, from version 7 to 9, they turned to Brigg-based Vanilla Solutions, with whom they already had a strong working relationship.
“We have been using IFS for about 12 years and it needed upgrading. Fundamentally, we wanted to create a completely new, stable environment to ensure our technology was ready for further growth for the company. It was an important project for us and I’m delighted to say that everything was migrated on time, as planned with no major issues,” said Michael McGinn, IT Manager at Largo.
Kieran Garry, Project Manager at Vanilla added: “IFS were delivering the core upgrade and we helped the Largo team configure the core solution to their precise needs. The project was split into three phases, starting from proof of concept to define the project scope, through to detailed testing of the final configured solution before go live.
“As part of the upgrade we also rewrote interfaces making things easier for the Largo users and tidied up some of their processes, speeding them up considerably. We’ve given them a better platform to help them transform and grow their business. Go live went smoothly without any major hitches or problems,” Kieran explained.
Michael added: “We were impressed by everyone on the team from Vanilla. Kieran ensured everyone, from Largo and Vanilla, was working together towards the go live and everyone we worked with from Vanilla was great – knowledgeable, patient and very helpful.”
New Support Contract
In evidence of the good working relationship between the two companies, Largo have also signed up for an IFS support contract, that gives them the ability to call on the UK-based Vanilla Support Team for any functional or technical support issues with IFS9.
