Vanilla employees from across the country came together for our annual Company Day.

Only one member of the Vanilla family couldn’t make the annual gathering, which this year was held at Forest Pines Resort, Brigg, between September 5th and 6th. But then Maria Nikolaidu had the best possible excuse – the imminent arrival of her first baby.

Because many of our employees are spread all over the UK, the annual Company Day (which this year was actually a day and a half) gives our colleagues the perfect opportunity to get to know one another. It is also a chance to update everyone on how well the company is performing and to talk about the strategy and objectives put in place for the next 12 months to continue driving service improvement and innovation for our customers.

It has become a Vanilla tradition that new members of the team present a PowerPoint at their first Company Day. Our new colleagues talk about their past, the present and their hopes for the future. Company growth meant we had 15 new presentations this year.

Other presentations included an update on our successful graduate programme; a marketing update; an update from our delivery team, and a presentation about the 2019 charity challenge, more on that at a later date.

We also had talks on mental health in the workplace and a mindfulness workshop hosted by Helen Short from our employee assistance providers Health Assured.
