Established in 1899, Fujichem Sonneborn (FCS) are a leading designer and producer of high performance coating technologies for wood, metal, glass, and many variations of plastic. Fujichem originally implemented IFS Applications in 2003 and first worked with Vanilla in 2010.
FCS embarked upon a continuous improvement programme for their implementation of IFS Applications and engaged Vanilla Solutions to assist their existing team to achieve their targets.
As part of this programme, specific business processes supporting the customer relations team were targeted and following the DMAIC process improvement methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), revised processes were introduced. This involved the use of previously unused functionality within IFS Applications
On the Operational side of the business, Vanilla worked with Darren Hall (FCS, Sales & Logistics Manager) and Stuart Hall (FCS, Production Planner). Stuart said “Working with Vanilla Solutions to combine our master scheduling with online consumption now gives our Internal Account Managers greater confidence in quoting lead-times to our customers and has helped improve our delivery performance.”
Paul Darwin, Head of Consulting at Vanilla solutions and the Senior Consultant working alongside FCS through the programme added “The continuous improvement approach adopted by Darren and Stuart with the FCS ERP system is a fantastic example of how targeting specific troublesome processes, improving on these before moving to the next area can have immediate value to the business. Vanilla continue to support FCS with their improvement efforts, now focusing on Quality processes such as maintaining uniform expiry dates and the introduction of control plans for all types of shop orders.
