Through their fundraising efforts, the team were able to raise £4,671 and after Vanilla kindly pledged to double every £1 raised, the total amount raised climbed to £9,342.

Between Friday, September 25th and Sunday, September 28th, the Vanilla team undertook their annual charity challenge and raised an impressive total of £9,342 for their chosen charity Young Minds.

With the arrival of COVID-19 the team’s original plan (to cover the distance between our two UK offices – from our head office in Brigg, Lincolnshire to Newcastle) was postponed – a total distance of 143 miles (the same distance as an Ironman). Instead they covered the same distance in a socially isolated way.

In completing this challenge, our employees took on one or more elements of an Ironman Triathlon – one of the most enduring and brutal long-distance triathlons you can undertake.  This meant that our employees could choose to either cycle 112 miles (180.25km), run or walk 26.2 miles (42.20km) or swim 2.4 miles (3.86 km).

Through their fundraising efforts, the team were able to raise £4,671 and after Vanilla kindly pledged to double every £1 raised, the total amount raised climbed to £9,342.

All this is of course for charity with Young Minds selected as our chosen charity. This organisation is the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health and their aim is to ensure that young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
